1K a year The Assistant Coordinator (AC) is responsible for supervising the implementation of educational and clinical programs and the oversight of the program and facility in the absence of the Program Coordinator.
The AC's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
the design and training of clinical and educational programs as assigned; participation in data collection and analysis; participation in staff development, hiring, supervision and evaluation and acting as a member of the interdisciplinary team for each student.
The AC reports directly to the Program Coordinator.
(S)he works with and assists in the supervision of the team to ensure the delivery of quality services.
Supervisory responsibilities include:
Monitors day-to-day implementation of clinical and educational programs.
Serves as a role model for staff in all areas of client programming, client services and professional practice.
Works cooperatively with the Program Coordinator and other supervisory personnel in training staff.
Assesses staff performance; provides additional training, support or counseling, as appropriate.
Works in conjunction with the Human Resources Department on all aspects of performance and training.
Documents the same under the supervision of the Program Coordinator and in accordance with Amego guidelines.
Meets with staff on a regular basis.
Chairs meetings and follows up, as needed and as appropriate.
Communicates problem areas identified to the Program Coordinator.
Participates in the evaluation of staff.
Assumes responsibility for site organization and cleanliness and reports repair needs when necessary.
Initiates or completes simple repairs as appropriate.
Develops rationale for clinical and educational supply needs and maintains inventory and upkeep of materials, in conjunction with the Program Coordinator.
Maintains positive and accurate communication across all shifts.
Demonstrates professional use of language, both spoken and written.
Coordinates and attends student health-related appointments, as necessary.
Ensures that Amego's policies and procedures on Students' rights are implemented in all aspects of programming and services, including necessary documentation and training of students and personnel.
Ensures that Amego policies and procedures are implemented in a fair and consistent manner.
Ensures the proper administration and documentation of medication as prescribed by each student's physician and with adherence to Amego's policies on the administration of medication.
Maintains current Massachusetts Medication Administration Program (MAP) certification.
Orders and/or assures that there are adequate medications and supplies on hand at all times, as required by MAP Certification.
Responds appropriately in crisis situations.
Utilizes the back-up services available to staff such as the Administrator-On-Call or the RN-On-Call.
Implements and assures the maintenance of established safety practices at Amego.
Follows the proper chain of command and consistently reports necessary information to the appropriate supervisory personnel.

Maintains the staff schedule ensuring safe coverage at all times.
Participates in the recruitment of staff for assigned site as assigned.
Makes recommendations to the Human Resource Department personnel.
Ensures that the physical plant aspects of the home are attended to and completes all necessary paperwork to get the repairs done.
Programmatic Responsibilities Include:
Assists in the design of clinical and educational programs for students in conjunction with the Program Coordinator.
Completes program related paperwork responsibilities required for IEP, Quarterlies, and other assigned program-related paperwork.
Oversees the implementation of individual clinical and educational programs and the reliable data collection for all student programs.
Maintains up-to-date written student records, as assigned, which may include educational and clinical program books, educational, and clinical data books, medical records and other records as required.
Maintains up-to-date written site records, as assigned such as communication books, meeting agendas and minutes.
Includes quarterly reports for DCF.
Participates when needed in all student programming related meetings to include transitional priority meetings, IEP and other program related planning meetings.
Participates in the training of staff in the implementation of student programs.
Meets with the Program Coordinator on a regular basis.
Oversees a monthly community recreation schedule for the students in the residential setting.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in related human service field preferred.
Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
Good supervisory and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Experience with severe special needs population required.
Maturity, good judgment and ability to handle confidential information regarding both staff and clients required.
Current certifications or willingness to obtain certification in Safety Care, CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration Program.
Must maintain a valid, current driver's license/MA or RI.
Must be able to meet all of the Essential Functions of the position.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
