JOB DESCRIPTION The Materials Manager is responsible for leading the planning, procurement and inventory control of materials and products to meet or exceed both customer requirements and company cost goals.
This role directly supports all US based manufacturing plants and refurbishment sites.
The Materials Manager will lead a team of Planners who will schedule raw material and manufacturing production to meet all customer delivery requirements.
This role will work closely with the System Intelligence Manager to ensure the Planning, Procurement and Inventory Control resources are fully utilizing established, standardized ERP/MRP system functionality.
Goals are to minimize the need for expediting, minimize intercompany transfers, increase cycle count accuracy, increase raw material, and finished good turns, decrease E&O, and optimized use of manufacturing labor.
Responsibilities:
Directs production planning and scheduling in a manner that supports optimization of labor, equipment/tooling, and material, while ensuring product availability meets CCT stock policies.
Manages resource(s) overseeing refrigerant movement into 3rdparty freezers to achieve 100% customer on-time availability.
Maintains system driven raw material and finished goods levels to achieve inventory turns targets; focused on both inventory cost and space optimization.
Drives a cycle count program that ensures raw material accuracy, early identification of any challenges and prompt corrective/preventative actions to address issues.
Captures and reports out KPI results to team and key internal partners.
Establish use of e-kanbans & other system driven/standardized raw material ordering processes, allowing Buyers to spend more time on value-added activity.
Monitors and manages inventory control KPIs:
Expired Inventory, E&O, defective material, and any CCT project specific inventory capture requirements.
Works with warehouse to highlight any FIFO issues, works with commercial team to proactively move material well before it's 'best by' and/or expired dates and works with finance to plan reserves if necessary.
Establish strong supplier relationships and implement shared assessments that are reviewed periodically with strategic suppliers for purposes of continued improvement.
Select, hire, mentor and motivate direct reports to further their development and effectively utilize their capabilities.
This includes training, performance management and team building.
Provide timely positive and constructive feedback to direct reports, including timely corrective action as necessary, in accordance with company policies.
Represent Supply Chain during external audits as required.
Other project work as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree Minimum 5
years of applicable ERP systems experience within a similar, multi-plant manufacturing environment Proven success leading, managing and developing a staff Successful implementation of continuous improvement programs; track record as 'change agent' Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner.
Experience in an ISO-9001 quality system environment Leader, self-starter, and team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment Excellent oral and written communications skills Ability to utilize MS Office applications, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Occasional travel as business needs demand Job Type:
